Hector Bustamante

Award-winning actor Hector Bustamante most recently starred in Alejandro G. Inarritu’s CARNE y ARENA, which premiered at Cannes and received a Special Oscar Award in recognition of a visionary and powerful experience in storytelling. On the small screen, he has appeared in numerous leading roles, including AMC’s “Lodge 49”, ABC’s “Station 19” and “Scandal”, as well as CBS’ mega-hit series “Criminal Minds.”

Hector was born in Medellin, Colombia and after moving to the US at the age of 12, his earlier passion for acting was quickly diminished. He saw few opportunities for young Latino actors on television or in the movies. After graduating high school, he was accepted into the prestigious Parsons School of Design and studied Graphic Design and Communication Arts. One afternoon, on his way home from classes, he came upon “Nash Bridges” being filmed on the streets. As he watched and saw Cheech Marin, the Latino lead of a hit television show being directed, his love of acting was revived and he set upon his chosen career path.
